Harvey Eugene Callahan

Also known as Dad, Harv, and Grandpa

Resided in Collinsville, OK

Born October 2, 1947 In Sallisaw, OK

Passed away after a fight with ALS June 10, 2017 at 5:05 AM In Tulsa, OK

Harvey is survived by his sons, Jason Callahan of Cleveland,OK and

Jeffrey Lopez of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, his brothers Hubert and Bill, his

sisters Wanda, Rosealee, & Sue, & 7 grandchildren, and 1 great

grandchild.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Oletha Callahan, his

brothers Ben and, his sister Cherry, and his son Kiefer.

Harvey served our country in the US Marine Corps. He went in at 17 years

old. He fought in Vietnam. He was a recipient of 3 purple hearts, 2 Marine

Corps Good Conduct awards, Vietnam Gallantry Cross, and Rifle and

Pistol Marksman award

.

Harvey was an excellent craftsman. He enjoyed woodworking and making

things from bookshelves to building and remodeling homes. He also was

also outstanding at the grill. He enjoyed fishing and keeping up with the OU

Sooners.

Those that sat by Harvey ’s side his last hours would agree with Mark

Twain. Though his body was done, his heart still had tons of fight.
