Mary Louise (Sullivan) Horton

Mary Louise Sullivan Horton was born September 10, 1935, in Corsicana, Texas to Vesta Lee Green Sullivan and Dennis Smith Sullivan.  Louise left this earth on June 12, 2017, at 81 years of age.

On June 15, 1956, she and Carroll Ray Horton entered into marriage and to that union 3 children were born:  Karlene Horton Olds of Owasso, Oklahoma, Dana Horton Smith of Friendswood, Texas and Carroll Ray Horton, Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Louise was a graduate of Central High School in 1954.  Most of her life she spent as a homemaker and caretaker of several children from the Owasso area.  Louise also worked in her later years at Guaranty Abstract in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Louise loved watching baseball and the Oklahoma City Thunder play.  Her favorite hobby in later years was to watch the QVC channel and order gifts for her family and friends.  She and her late husband Carroll enjoyed sitting on the porch, chatting and swinging on the porch swing.

Louise’s greatest joy were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Mary Smith of Katy, Texas, Ashley Olds Gilstrap, husband Moses Gilstrap and daughter Ella Louise Gilstrap of Owasso, Oklahoma, Shawn Miller husband Jason Miller and their children, Henry and Walter Miller of Fairbanks, Alaska, Niketa Smith and her daughter Isabella Smith of Friendswood, Texas, and son-in-law Jerry Smith of Friendswood, Texas.

Louise is survived by brothers, Dennis Sullivan of Vallejo, California, Howard Sullivan and wife Marion of Twin Falls, Idaho, a sister Gwen Fourkiller of Tulsa, Oklahoma and several other relatives and many friends.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her brother William (Bill) Sullivan of Tulsa, Oklahoma and her husband of 51 years, Carroll Ray Horton of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Burial at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, 12:00 PM, 6/15/2017
