Mary Alice (Holleman) Wilson

Mary Alice Wilson passed from this life on May 15, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years.  Mary was born August 11, 1933 in Paragould, Arkansas to parents William David Holleman and Myrtle Viola Wilson Holleman.

Mary was an advocate for social justice, an avid bridge player, voracious reader, creative author of short stories and dictionary enthusiast.  She loved spelling and crossword puzzles, was a firm believer of doing what is right, loving her family and always doing what she could for those in need. Mary was an avid NFL 49ers fan and her favorite color was blue.

Mary was a member of St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, assisted with Grand Pride and outreach programs. She had worked as a census taker, volunteered at St. Francis and was a volunteer tutor for teaching children to read.  Mary loved camping, gardening, fishing, baking and canning. She traveled to many amazing places and loved the natural parks and wildlife.

Mary is survived by children; Matt Wilson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ward Wilson of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Alice Calkins of Catoosa, Oklahoma, Walter Wilson of Crane, Missouri and Mark Wilson of Harlem, Georgia, brother: David Joseph Holleman of Lady Lake, Florida, 5 grandchildren; Jessie Harrison, Macon Co., Georgia, Leevi Wilson of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, Elias Wilson of Solano County, California, Nathaniel Wilson of Jacksonville, Florida and Rachel Wilson-Clay of Olathe, Kansas.
