Norman Leroy Johnson

Norman Leroy Johnson son of Alvin Eugene and Mary Agnes (Nicholson) Johnson was born June 2, 1949 in Palm Springs, California and departed this life July 8, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 68 years 11 months and 6 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother Jack Johnson.

Norm was the youngest of 3 boys. He attended Cathedral City Elementary, then Palm Springs High School, where he was an avid football player. At a young age he went to live with his parents in Anchorage, Alaska, after a short stay he moved back to California, where he met the love of his life, Laura and to this union, 2 children were born. In 1987 Norm’s job led him to Oklahoma, where he resided until his passing. Never a good deed to go undone, Norm took care of his sister in law, Debbie for many years. He had a passion for motorcycles; he admired them and loved riding them. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, swimming, and teaching everyone to ski. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife, of the home; one son, Alvin Johnson and wife Jennifer; one daughter, Kandy Kay Winslow and husband Thomas; nine grandchildren, Jonathon, Matthew, Courtney, Emily, Logan, Trista, Michala, Mika, and Maria; two great-grandchildren, Kennedi and Braxlie; and one brother, Ed Johnson and wife Vicki. A host of relatives and many friends also survive him.
