Betty L. Tharp

Betty LaVerne Tharp, 76, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2016, following a long battle with cancer.

Born on October 5, 1939, in Seminole, Oklahoma, the daughter of Dennis and Jewell Franklin.

Betty received her education at, T. J. C. (Tulsa Junior College) in accounting. She worked and retired after 25 years of dedicated employment at Castleberry's Ethan Allen Gallery, where she is still missed.

Betty was a avid collector of many beautiful things. She also loved antiques. Betty enjoyed socializing and her beautiful smile could light up a room.

Betty is survived by her children Ricky Tharp of Tulsa; Richard Tharp (her loving caretaker until she passed) of Tulsa; Sherri Wolf of Broken Arrow,; Dona Blue of Wichita, Kansas, her sister, Shirley Dodson (husband, Bob). Several wonderful and loving grandchildren & great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Also close knit friend thru out her life, including Bessie Jones from the 4th grade.

Betty was preceded in death by, mother, Jewel Franklin; father, Dennis Franklin; brother, Larry Franklin, brother Michael Franklin; and her husband, Don Tharp (retired Tulsa Police Officer).
