Leonard Otis Kiddy

Leonard Otis Kiddy was born July 15. 1939, in Peggs, Ok. Leonard was the first born of William Joseph Kiddy and Carmie Cogle Dobbs Kiddy. Hegrew up in the country in and around Peggs, Tahlequah and Muskogee, attending several different schools as his family moved.
Leonard graduated in 1958 from Tahlequah High School, enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1958 and was sent to Korea, where he was a lineman and a courier for the Army. Upon his return from the service he was a telephone lineman for a time and became a meat-cutter helping to set up the Union and then went to work as a US Postal Clerk and part-time acting supervisor.
Leonard met his wife Suzanne on first day of work of Post Office, in the same group of new trainees. He married Suzanne Saturday May 13, 1972 at Tulsa University, Sharp Chapel in Tulsa, and had 2 children, Christina and Adam.
After helping Suzanne with Christina's Girl Scout Troop activities he became active in Boy Scout's in 1988 becoming a cub-scout co-leader when son, Adam was in elementary school. Leonard worked with two different boy scout troops, Tr. 4 and Tr.22, in Tulsa which Adam was in and returned to Troop 4 after Adam graduated from scouts. Leonard continued to be active as he enjoyed working patiently with young scouts. He continued attending weekly meetings weekend camp outs and resident summer camp where he was inducted into the Tribe of Mic-O-Say at H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation in Missouri. He was also inducted into the local Order of the Arrow. He continued to be active with Tr. 4 until 2015 when he was forced to stop because of his Alzheimer's.
In addition to Scouts he was always an avid out doors man, thru-out his entire life. He loved to fish, hunt and campout. He always enjoyed nature and tried to share this love with his kids and grandkids. His hobbies included showing Irises for a time at the Tulsa garden Center and he often planted a vegetable garden in the backyard as he loved working the land. He said he would have become a farmer if he could have made a living at it and supported his family. Family was his main focus and he was a man that set the example for love and respect.
Leonard is survived by: Wife of 43 years, Suzanne (Clagg) Kiddy, Children: son Jerry Wayne Kiddy, daughter Christina DeeAnne (Kiddy) Kennedy, son Adam David Kiddy. Brothers and Sisters, Wilma (Kiddy) Allen and husband Ronnie, Gary Kiddy and wife Kay, Willie Kiddy and wife Debbie, Ellis Kiddy wife Deene, Linda (Kiddy) McGaugh, husband Joe, Robert Kiddy and wife Patti, Don Kiddy, Brother-in-law Elvin Rich. Grandchildren: Alexander Cole Drummond, Claire Elyse Kennedy, Abigail Grace Kennedy, Zachary Alexander Kiddy, Victor Caleb Kiddy, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, brother Alfred Kiddy, sister Mary Pauline (Kiddy) Martin, brother Charlie Fredrick Kiddy, sister Billie Joe Ann Kiddy Rich, sister-in-law Tina, wife of Don Kiddy, and niece Carmie Faye Martin.
