Barbara Strope Obituary

 

Barbara was born November 3, 1936 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Lawrence Jerome Morris and Wilma Jean Hanes.  There she attended Holy Name Catholic School up to the 8th grade, then on to the Coffeyville High School.

She married Roy L. Strope on February 19, 1955 in the Holy Name Catholic Church.  They moved to Oklahoma and had one daughter and three sons.  They built a home and made Collinsville their home in 1965.  Barbara was a nurse at Collinsville Manor for several years, and then went to the Claremore Veterans Center when they opened and worked there several years and got to retire with a pension.  She was a nurse, worked in rehab and the pharmacy.

Barbara spent her entire life taking care of others; she took care of her mother the last 10 years in her home for as long as she was able.  Her mother died earlier this year at 101.

Barbara is survived by, Daughter: Deborah Harris, two Daughter-in-laws: Connie Strope and Glenda Strope, Grandsons: Walter Harris and Clinton Harris, Granddaughter: Ellen Strope, Great Grandsons: Malachi Harris and Dalton Harris and Great Granddaughter: Natalee Harris.

She was preceded in death by, Husband: Roy Strope, three Sons: John Strope, Elmer Strope and Charles Strope, Father: Lawrence Morris, Mother: Wilma Morris, Sister: Janet Seery and Brother: Philip Morris.
