Edmund Frederick Limke passed away peacefully in his sleep December 2, 2018 at the age of 94 at his home in Jay, Oklahoma.
Edmund was born to Henry and Rose (Meinert) Limke in Topeka, Kansas on October 30, 1924. He was one of 7 children (6 boys and 1 girl) born to Henry and Rose. His family moved to Collinsville, Oklahoma from Topeka, Kansas in 1941. He was married to Jewell Maxine Morland of Collinsville, Oklahoma on April 9, 1946 in Sacred Heart Church in Skiatook, Oklahoma. They lived in Tulsa for many years and then retired to live on Grand Lake. He was a retired glass glazer.
He was an Army tail gunner on the B17 in WW11 and he flew 35 missions during the war. He was eligible for two purple hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rose Limke; his wife of 72 years, Jewell Morland Limke; 4 brothers, Raymond Limke, Theodore Limke, Leonard Limke and James Limke and 1 sister, Dorothy Limke Stanley. He is survived by his brother, Lawrence Limke of Collinsville, Oklahoma, and an only son, Gregory Alan Limke and his spouse Brenda of Jay, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren; Danny Limke and spouse,
Daisy of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Randy Limke and fiancé Lauren Furda of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Stacy Limke Carpenter and spouse, Chad of Glenpool, Oklahoma; Josh Sisco and spouse, Alyssa of Omaha, Nebraska..
He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren: Tyler and Vinny Limke of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Keeton and Adison Carpenter of Glenpool, Oklahoma; Aidan Limke of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
The date of the graveside service for Edmund is Friday, December 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Sandridge Cemetery, Collinsville, Oklahoma. Service being held by Reynolds Funeral Home and officiated by Fr. Paul Eichhoff.
