I wish that I could’ve met Herb. I’d buy a car from him today if I could. He seems so funny and would be fun to hang around.

I listened to the rd Mercer bit back when it first came out. Herb took it in stride and had a good laugh while doing so. There needs to be more lighthearted people like him in this world today.
Rest In Peace Mr. Herb and may your family be comforted by the Lord every anniversary....

I just listened to Roy D Mercer and Herb on youtube. I obviously did not know Herb, but his good natured spirit was so evident on the youtube video. Instead of getting angry, Mr Herb laughed. Sorry for your loss, the world need more men like him.

We are saddened by the loss of our classmate and friend.. May the family be comforted by the promises recorded at Revelation 21;,4 where Death and Sorrow will be no more, and the hope of Acts 24:15 when we can enjoy the company of our loved ones again.

It is with great sadness reading a message from my cousin that a wonderful person from our childhood had passed. I too remember Herbert so well because his family lived across the street from my cousins home the Bookers. He and my sister Linda Ferguson went to BTW. The last time I saw him was at Abears and he kept saying I know you and then it hit him who I was. His laughter was infectious. He took pictures of me and my friends we were visiting from California at the time and put it on his "Wall of visitors" Bugs is from a time in my life that I will truly treasure living through him and my older siblings experiences. I want go into detail. With deep sympathy and prayers to his family. I truly look forward to the day that our Heavenly Father brings about his promise to end the pain of death. Revelation 21:3, 4

To the family you have my deepest sympathy and sincere condolences on the passing of Bugs. May the Lord give you strength and courage as you go into tomorrow without him. I hadn't seen Bugs in a few years but when we did see each other it was always good to see him. Bugs was big as life and its hard to accept he is no longer here. May the Lord rest his soul. I praise God for Mr. Herbert Tenneyson whom I simply called "Abears'! His Legacy as a business man on Black Wall Street and his delicious catfish will be cherished by many!! Moreover, I thank God for the courage and tenacity he exemplified in his business as he displayed memorabilia of African American Heritage including his customers whom he valued! Thank you Cornell for carrying the torch as long as possible. May the sweet comfort of the Holy Spirit keep his wife and each of your hearts and minds with heaven's peace in your time of sorrow. In Jesus Name! God bless!,

I'd like to give my Condolences to the Tennyson Family.. My father Jimmie Carr & Herb were friends, & with us living down the street I grew up as a friend as well.... I didn't see him much after I grew up but apparently he always kept up with my brother Shannon & I. because when I last saw him I was surprised to hear him ask about my police career..😊 I joked with Herb about how clean he was with starched jeans & pressed shirt no matter what he was doing!😁 With busy lives We haven't seen much of each other but the relationship/friendship was the same & he will be truly missed.! God Bless All of You

Condolences to the Tennyson's our neighborhood family. Bugs was a lot fun and grew up to be an wonderful son, brother, friend and husband. He had the gift for gab and it paid off in his being a consumate car salesman and becoming an entrepreneur with the restaurant.
We will miss seeing you when we visit Tulsa.

Herbert "Bugs" Tennyson was one of a kind. His directness, wit and storytelling ability kept you right on the edge. I'm proud to have called him my friend for 55+ years. I especially loved how he addressed me by my entire name in one conversation.
To his Wife and Family: You will never run out of famous Herb quotes. Laugh/Cry and remember each one of those conversations.....he will always be with you.
