Obituary

LaWanda (Wanda) Ward, 46, of Tulsa, Ok, Expectantly passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020.

She was born on May 24, 1974, in Chicago, IL and was the daughter of Carl Ward (Deceased) and Regina Greer.

Wanda was raised in Chicago, Denver and Tulsa.  Wanda was a loving and compassionate person who loved to be silly.  On her best days, her smile would light a room.  She was affectionately known by those who knew her as Big Baby.

Wanda loved music; her favorite artist were Michael Jackson (Enjoy Yourself) and Bobby Brown (Tender Roni), and Alexander O'Neil ( What's Missing).  She enjoyed talking, laughing and playing games with her friends and family.

The relationship she had with her children was special to her.  Her regret was not being present with them more.  Her children were her world and the best part of her.  Wanda wanted nothing more for them than to have a better life than she had.  She loved all her children to the end and wanted them to live out their God-given purpose and dreams.

Wanda had a special relationship with her sister Leona which was unlike no other.  They always had each other’s back, their ride or die.  She loved her nephews and loved how they protected her.  She cared for all those she came in contact with.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.  She can finally find a resting place and heavenly home.  No more sickness, no more pain.  When you think of LaWanda, celebrate the good and fun times you had with her.  Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.

She is preceded in death by her father Carl Ward, step-father Walter Greer and Grandmother Marian Perkins.  Wanda is survived by her 4 loving children, Latonya Ward, Charlysa Ward, Wynesha Ward-Franklin and Praisha Franklin, her mother, Regina Greer, grandchildren, Amiyah Jean 2 and Melody Harris 1, ; sisters, Ladaria Jones (Antonio), Leona Lofton (Marcus), Carla Ward, Step brothers Nick Greer (Delores), Nathan Greer, uncles, aunts and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that a donation be made to a Go Fund Account to cover any additional expenses for her 4 surviving children.
