Lisa Ann (Borton) Bissland

. LISA BISSLAND Lisa Ann (Borton) Bissland, 48, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, October 30th due to complications of cancer. Lisa was born March 22, 1971, in Phoenix, Arizona, the 3rd child of Gary and Janet Borton. She grew up in Mims, Florida, where she graduated from Northside Baptist School as their 1988 valedictorian. She went on to get certified in X-Ray Technology, Certified Chiropractic Physician’s Assistant, Bachelor of Science in Psychology Studies from Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and finally a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University, Bellevue, Nebraska, which she had earned just a couple weeks after being diagnosed with rectal cancer in November of 2017. Lisa worked in the healing arts for a little over 30 years. She is survived by her husband Dr. James S. Bissland, of Tulsa, OK, son James Thomas Bissland, of Tulsa, OK; her parents Gary and Janet Borton of Tulsa, OK; brother Todd Borton, his wife Lynne, and their sons, Luke and Craig of Independence, KS; sister Cindy (Borton) Webster of Burlington, Ontario, Canada, and her daughters Katie and Casie of Burlington, Ontario, Canada; multiple in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Burial will be a private graveside service scheduled for Monday, November 5, 2019, at Neodesha Cemetery in Neodesha, KS, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at Eastwood Baptist Church in Tulsa, OK, on Thursday, November 7, 2019, at 3:00p.
