Matthew James Adams

Matthew James Adams left this world Wednesday, May 16, 2018. 

Matthew was born October 31, 1986 in Tulsa, OK and from that moment on he was deeply loved by his parents, Coy Adams and Lori Detwiler (Walter).  On this day, he also gained his best friend and biggest fan, his sister, Brittany Youngblood (Adams).

Matthew gave all of himself to the people and things he cared for, even when that was difficult for him to do. Because of this, everyone who knew him could see what a rare soul he was.  Matthew was an avid music lover and a deep thinker.  This world wasn’t always easy on Matthew and those who love him take comfort in knowing that he is free and at peace.

Matthew is survived by his mother and step-father, Lori and Joel Detwiler; his father and step-mother Coy and Cheryl Adams; grandparents, Colleen and Steve Kohen, and Patsy Adams; siblings, Brittany Youngblood (Adams) and husband, Justin, Jason Detwiler, Jessica Detwiler and Jennifer Middlebrook (Detwiler); nephews, Cy Morton, Gage Youngblood, Sully Youngblood, Rigsby Youngblood, Wyatt Detwiler, Braxton Middlebrook and Layne Middlebrook, one niece Madison Youngblood, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Matthew’s family and loved ones ask that you honor his memory by speaking of Matthew often and by always treating each other with kindness, because we are all fighting our personal battle.
