Russell E. Nance, Jr.

Born:  March 29, 1928, Jennings, Oklahoma

Passed:  December 17, 219, Claremore Veterans Center, Claremore, Oklahoma.

Russell was the oldest of 11 children of his parents Russell and Rose Nance of Mannford Oklahoma.

Russell attended Mannford High School and Lettered in Basketball for Mannford Pirates.  He graduated Draugh Business College, Rhema Bible School and OSU with a certificate for Clock Repair.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in administration and was stationed in Ft. Riley, Kansas and Ft. Jackson, South Carolina.

Russell married his wife Yvonne, August 18, 1953 and they were married for 59 years. To this union they and one Son, Russell E. Nance III.

He worked for Oral Roberts Evangelistic Assoc. in Accounting.  He was also self employed as a house painter.

He claims his hands were used as the model for the Giant Praying Hands at the entrance of Oral Roberts University.  His wife Yvonne was managing editor of Oral Roberts Abundant Life Magazine during the 1970’s.

Russell was a member of First United Methodist Church, Tulsa since 1971.

He is survived by his Son, Rusty, Siblings, Dixie, Beulah, Herb, Marshal, Jerry, Linda, Joann and John.  He was preceded in death by his wife Yvonne, parents Russell & Rose and siblings Buddy and Ronnie.
