William Fred Hawkins

William Fred Hawkins was born April 26, 1927 and entered heaven March 1, 2019. Fred married Dorothy G. Hadley March 20, 1945. They had three children, Annette, Dwight and Cyndy. They had eleven Grandchildren, twelve Great Grandchildren and six Great-Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Albina Hawkins,  siblings, brothers Walter and Perry, sisters, Twila, Georgia, Pearl, Wilma, Faye and June.

After retiring from construction, Fred and Dorothy joined up with a group of volunteers, of the Assembly of God Churches called MAPS. For a few years they traveled to many places building churches or remodeling them. When the time came for them to retire themselves, from the program, we all knew it was going to be hard on them because they enjoyed it so much. Over the years, Fred or Dorothy would share with others about their “Travel” days working with MAPS and how much it meant to the churches to help do what they did,  not having the provisions to do for themselves. For ourselves, their stories made me want to go do the same. We are truly thankful for our Christian legacy.

We will miss Fred but the good news is without a doubt we know he is in heaven and we will be joining him one day!
