William Samuel Tinsley, Jr.

William Samuel Tinsley, Jr., Known to family and friends as "Bill", passed away on May 2, 2018 at his home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at the age of 92.  Bill was born July 26th, 1925, in Britton, Oklahoma to William Samuel and Rubby Vera Tinsley.

Bill served in the Coast Guard during World War II, participating in the initial assaults on the island of Iwo Jima. He loved playing golf, and built a career in carpentry.

Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife Faith Tinsley, his sons Tony (wife Mirna) Tinsley, and David (wife Joyce) Tinsley, daughter Cathie (husband Bob) Moneypenny, stepdaughter Sharon (husband Mike) Parker, stepson Robert (wife Alicia) Kirksey, brother Robert (wife Laura) Tinsley, brother Frank (wife Elizabeth) Tinsley, brother Howard (wife Margie) Tinsley, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Bill is predeceased by his first wife Bertie Marie Tinsley, his son Samuel Tinsley, sister Pauline Brown, sister Lorene Ross, sister Mary Brown, sister Thelma Breslin, and sister Viola Hager.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Edmond, Oklahoma.
