Winfred W. Kidd Jr. was born on March 14, 1938 to Winfred W. Kidd Sr. and Catherine Smith in Cambria, OK.

He grew up in Cambria and graduated from Wilburton High School. He received an Associate’s Degree in Mathematics and Mechanics from Shorter College in Little Rock, AR. He served four years in the United States Airforce and received an Honorable Discharge. In 1968, he joined the Denver Police Department where he dedicated 28 years of upholding the law before he retired and relocated to Tulsa, OK in 1996. He found that love for law enforcement again at the United States Court House as a Marshall for 19 years. During his lifetime he was married to two wonderful ladies, Maxcene Barrett-Kidd and Irma J. Robinson-Kidd.

Winfred gave his life to Christ at an early age.  Some of the many things that friends and family loved about Winfred were the fact that he cared about people and was always willing to help others in their time of need. He also had a great sense of humor and would always offer his wisdom and knowledge. Winfred had many hobbies and passions including: cooking, being a master of the barbeque grill, carpentry, auto mechanics, and most importantly spending quality time with family and reconnecting at the reunions in Hartshorne. Adding to his list of hobbies, he also enjoyed: playing at the casinos, baseball, fishing, bowling, traveling, and being a connoisseur of gospel, blues and jazz music. Winfred loved to watch the Young and The Restless, attending his favorite sports teams games: the Denver Broncos and Denver Nuggets; being a lover and student of the game himself, playing basketball in school and on the Denver Police Department’s basketball team.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: spouse Herminia Kidd of Tulsa, OK, three children: daughters Beverly J. Kidd of Tulsa, OK and Stephanie Kidd of Denver, CO; Son Reginald Kidd and wife Denise; Stepmother Carolyn Kidd of Oakland, CA;  Stepchildren: Kathleen Jones, Lisa McNeil (Carnell), Katherine Munoz, Julian Munoz.
