Donald B. Hillier

Donald Barry Hillier, age 75, of Tulsa, OK, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021.

Don was born in Chicago, Il to Arnold and Rose (Berkowitz) Hillier on January 11, 1946.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Rose Hillier; brother, Marc Hillier; daughter, Pamela Coogan and granddaughter, Cassie Coogan.

Don is survived by his wife, of 30 years, Shannon Hillier; daughter Sarah Hillier of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughters Kristin Coogan and danielle Coogan, great grandsons Spencer Coogan and Cooper Doering all of Springfield, IL.

Don spent most of his professional career working to serve families and teens through DayBreak Dynamics, an adolescent treatment program he created and ran for 25 years. During this time in addition to providing services to many area families he also provided a training opportunity for many students and licensure candidates who have gone on to serve our community.  Many lives were and continue to be made better by the work he did.

Don was a dreamer of big dreams and said yes to every opportunity that came his way.  He will live on in the dreams he encouraged in those who loved him.  May we all embrace life with such open arms and high expectations that we will have what we need for whatever challenges come our way.

There will be no service at this time.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
