Obituary
Harold Milford Hampton, 84, of Tulsa Oklahoma went to be with his Heavenly Father on May21, 2020. While residing at the Southern Hill Nursing Home in Tulsa. He was the youngest son of the late Walter (Wolly) and Lillian Hampton from Englewood, New Jersey. Harold was born on Oct 31, 1935.
Harold Hampton better known as “Howie” to his siblings and childhood cousins, spend most of his life serving the Lord. He gave his life to the Lord in the 1950’s.
He attended Christian Bible School in Tucson Arizona where believers were taught to be effective of the body of Christ. He was a member of St. Thomas Methodist Church in Somerville, New Jersey where he taught bible study. During this time, he met Dolores Hampton (Green), he later joined Shiloh Pentecostal Church married Dolores and had six beautiful children.
Harold continue his biblical studies under the leadership of the late Rev. Denvale Harley were he became an Ordained Minister to Reverend for thirteen years. He recorded two albums “Music by Harold Hampton” and Harold Hampton Musical with Marsha.
Later in life he married Josephine Hampton (Urquhart) and had a beautiful daughter Johannah.
Harold owned H&R Cleaning Service for 17 years. He later sold the business and moved to Tulsa and worked as a Janitor at Victory Christian church where he retired.
Harold loved to study and read the bible. He put this in practice daily. He lived to serve God. He loved life, people, sharing the goodness of Jesus, family, Dallas Cowboys, coffee, sirloin steaks, Jimmy Swaggart, Billy Graham, loved to quote scripture and always shared words of encouragement. His laughter and jokes will be missed.
Harold even towards the end continue being a servant at Southern Hill Nursing Home where he devoted his time with the elderly. He was the Ambassador, the friend, the greeter, the assistance the prayer partner. This was his favorite place to be, he called this home.
Harold was predeceased by his Parents Walter and Lillian Hampton, brother Junie, son Ralph and Grand-daughter Kimberly Davis.
He is survived by brother Thomas Hampton, sister Joan Hampton, sister-in-law Carol Field (Dennis). Dolores Hampton, daughter Gertrude Hinson (Dave), Harriet, Dorothy (Arthur), Susan, son Matthew, Josephine Hampton and daughter Johannah. His Grandchildren, Michael (Rhoda), Tylicia (Justin), Steven (Jameka), Brandon (Portia), Patricia, April (Deron), Chris, Marquis (Javonna) Deoine, LaFrancia, and Gabiana and 18 Great-grandchildren, host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
