Jameckia Martin Obituary

On July 22, 1979, a bouncing baby girl was born to JoeAnn & the late Jimmy Martin Sr., in  Compton, California. She was the second child of three children, and they named her Jameckia Ja'Nay Martin. Jameckia professed her faith in Christ at the age of 10 and was baptized at Olive Grove Church of God and Christ in Los Angeles where she sang in the church choir. She attended Ritter elementary, Markham Jr. High and on to Long Beach Jordan High School where she graduated in 1997 and from there her life began.

In 1999 while Jameckia was attending Cerritos College in California she met Michael Oney they fell in love and together they moved from California to Caney, Kansas from there on to New Orleans, Louisiana from this union her first son was born, they picked up and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. in 2003 they separated and in 2006 Jameckia met and fell in love with Ricardo Collins, during that union her second son was born.

In 2002 Jameckia started working for Hillcrest hospital where she worked for 3 years from there she went on to attend school and attained her CNA license from Platt College but she wasn't satisfied and went back to school in 2006 to get her RN license to become a registered nurse. Jameckia loved listening to music, shopping, going to the movie theater, and doing her hair. Jameckia's main love was caring for her son's and taking then out to breakfast, lunch or dinner when she had time off work. She loved cooking dinner for her family and spending time at the park.

Those who cherish her memories are her two sons, Nahshon and Jamarion, her mother JoeAnn and stepfather Charles, brothers and sister-in-law's Jimmy Jr. (Amy) and Jo'Vonn (Catherine) her nephews and nieces Darius, Xavier, Desmond, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jazlynn (who proceeded her in death) Olevia, and Zuri whom she was waiting to meet and a host of cousins second and third cousins her god daughter Kamesha and friends.
