Janet was born January 20th, 1954, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the middle of a snowstorm (a preview of things to come), to Herbert E. and Norma L. Smith. She attended Burbank Elementary, Bell Junior High, and graduated from Will Rogers High.
She married Timothy G. McMinn and had a son, Timothy G. McMinn Jr., (Tim). She later married Richard Oakes and had a daughter Janet L. Oakes, Jr. (JJ).
She was employed by American Airlines as a data processer, and later employed by Amara Hess. She suffered from a stroke and retired in 1982.
In later years she married Bryon Wilgus and lived in Bellefontaine Ohio. She returned to Tulsa with her many dogs at the death of her husband.
She was outgoing and adventurous and very stubborn, (yes, VWs do float, and did fit behind the bushes at the Camelot Hotel).
Janet is survived by her son, Tim, daughter JJ, sister Patie, brother Buddy, 3 grandsons, Christopher, Patrick, and Nixon, 1 granddaughter Samantha, nephew Andy Thach, niece Squeck Thach, great nieces and nephews. Aunt and uncle Betty and Paul Hudson, many, many cousins and Trooper.
She is running in the grass barefooted now, and no more snow, enjoy.
