Mark Dix Obituary

Mark Alan Dix of Tulsa, Oklahoma, husband, father and friend went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 4th, 2021. Mark was born on October 5th, 1957 on Polk Army Base in Ft. Polk, LA to Marlene Dix and Donald Dix. He grew up in Tulsa, OK and attended Union Public Schools where he later graduated in 1976 and then joined the U.S. Air Force where he served for 13 years. He then trained and became a Tulsa Firefighter in 1982 where he served for 27 years before retiring. Not being one to sit around, he continued to work after retirement, most recently at Rise Armament. He met his wife, Tammy Fipps-Dix in 1986 on a blind date set up by friends. Two years later on May 7th, 1988 they were married and then in 1992 and 1995 had their children, Taylor and Andrew.

Mark enjoyed being outdoors, camping, hunting, riding his motorcycle, and his love of Western movies led him to enjoy all styles of competitive gun shooting. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was very active in his community whether attending his children's sports games, scout camps or serving at his church.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Dix, children Taylor Dix and Andrew Dix, sister Rachel and Steven Barreau and family, sister Allison and Chris Mottas and family, his father's wife, Lucy Dix, and many other extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents Marlene Dix and Donald Dix.

A celebration of life will be held at Trinity Baptist Church 1703 W. 41st Tulsa, OK on September 10th at 11:00am. A private burial for the family will take place at a later time.
