Melissa Diane Barton passed through the thin veil between this life and her eternal worship of her King Jesus, Monday, August 1st while resting at her home in Tulsa, OK.  However, knowing Melissa who was not shy and had a bold personality, it was likely a full on sprint after breaching that veil with shouts of joy embracing and kissing her beloved, Jesus and joining the dance of praise with a thousand angels in her strong new vibrant body saying something to the effect of, "Look at me, Saints!  Look how beautiful I am!  Finally, I have my promised body and deliverance from pain."

Melissa was intensely devoted to Jesus, her husband, family and friends.  With all the energy and strength she had, which was not always plentiful and diminished as time passed, she freely poured out her life to direct others to God's love, embolden them to believe in their spiritual best and the promises of hope in God.  She was a woman who valued prophetic words from the Lord and conversations that pulled on the power of the Holy Spirit to bring God's kingdom to earth.  She dove deeply into God's word, researching to understand it's principles and how it could be applied to this life.  She loved prayer, praise & worship, dancing, poetry, sushi, dinners out with friends, theme parties and theater.

Melissa was born in San Diego, California in 1969 while her father served as an Air Force Pilot and moved around 7 times by time she was 6 years old when she moved to El Cajon, CA and finished her schooling there at Granite Hills High School in 1987 where she was very strong,  athletic and a cheerleader.  She attended a year at Rick's College before beginning to work in insurance and flourished in a long career as a highly skilled paralegal.  She moved to Tulsa in the early 1990's and met and married the Godly man of her prayers and dreams, Vince Barton on October 19th, 2008.  She freely released her career in 2010 to support her husband at home and embrace her long awaited promise of being a mom to her beautiful son.

She leaves behind a legacy of love in her husband Vince Barton and 12 year old son, Ethan Barton.  She leaves behind a dedicated mother Sharon Riley and supportive father Jim Riley, her four beautiful sisters Kelli, Jennifer, Elizabeth and Holly and three wonderful brothers, Michael, Christopher and Steven as well a community of friends that adored her.
