Steven Bullinger Obituary

Steven Ray Bullinger was born December 15, 1949, to Theodore and Kay Bullinger in Austin, Texas. Steve was one of three children. His family moved to Oklahoma where they planted their roots in Tulsa. Steve graduated from Edison Highschool. Steve enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam war. After being honorably discharged in 1970, he went on to master the trade of carpentry. Steve then studied education at the University of Central Oklahoma where he graduated with a master's degree in Education. Steve used his degree to teach what he loved, which was carpentry, at Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center in Choctaw, Oklahoma until he retired.

Steve met Barbara on a blind date arranged by his sister, Susan. They got married on December 24, 1982. and would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year. In 1992, Erin was born joining his daughter, Tiffany, and son, Jeff, making Steve’s family complete.

Steve enjoyed hunting in the fall at deer camp and summers at their lake house on Grand Lake. He took up hobbies such as fly fishing, tying flies and astronomy with his brother, Ted. Steve was quite the movie buff with a healthy library of any DVD you could think of, though sci-fi was his favorite. He had a special love for his dogs, especially his rescued West Highland Terrier, Bluebell.
Steve’s antics were legendary and those who know him have their own story to tell. Many would say he was a man of many words, he found purpose in teaching and sharing wisdom, his dry, sarcastic humor lightened any mood, and most of all when he loved, he loved hard.

Steve’s battle with congestive heart failure in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Steve passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the age of 72.
Steve was proceeded in death by his father, Theodore Bullinger. He is survived by his mother Kay Bullinger; his wife Barbara; his siblings Ted Bullinger, Susan Clark and husband Danny; his brother-in-law Phil Austin and wife Kay; his children Jeff Bullinger and wife Stephanie, Tiffany Farrow-Pollard and husband Charlie, and Erin Stephens and husband Kyle; his grandchildren, Dillon Farrow and wife Sarah, Madison Bell and husband Kolton, Hayden Bullinger and wife Caley, Mackayla Bullinger, Kallan Stephens, another grandson on the way; Tyler Pollard and wife Amanda and Cody Pollard and wife Whitney;great grandchildren Bennett, Paisley, Rylee and Wrenlee Farrow.
