Alvin R. Penn
LIFE LONG CREEK COUNTY RESIDENT DIES
Alvin R. Penn died peacefully at his home in Bristow, OK, surrounded by his family on November 17, 2015. He was born on August 31, 1928 on Lincoln Street in Sapulpa, OK, across from the Euchee Mission, now Woodland Elementary, where his mother was a school teacher. In 1970 the Penn's moved to Bristow, OK.
In 1967 Mr. Penn, a Professional Engineer and Land Surveyor, founded PENNCO Engineering and Land Surveying. He was also a charter member of the Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors.
Mr. Penn was one of Jehovah's Witness and for 21 years he served as a Traveling Overseer and visited congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses as a representative of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. In this work he visited congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses in Texas, Louisiana, Missouri, and Arizona. After retiring from this work in 2004, he and Mrs. Penn returned to their home in Bristow and served in the Bristow Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
He is survived by his dear wife, Fern. They were married for sixty-nine years and had three children, a son Philip Penn and wife Melody of Pearland, Texas, a son Mark and wife Debby of Bristow, and his daughter Priscilla Peck and husband Calvin of Bristow. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. He was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
The Penn family would like to thank the dear friends of the Bristow Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and all of his caregivers for their love and support during his illness. Services are set for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2015, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1125 Brenner Road, Sapulpa, OK, 74066. Brother Al Yoak, officiating.
