Diane I remember your dad and mom taking us to the company parties at Bells. Your dad was always a very hard working man. I am sorry for your loss. Love and Prayers for your comfort. Sharlotte

I never had the pleasure of meeting your Daddy; if I had he would have to know he did a wonderful job with you. Much love, Merilee

I have so many Memories it's hard to pick just one, but here goes.... Dad started a Used Lawn Mower shop after he retired from McDonald Douglas Aircraft. He had hundreds of old broken down lawn mowers sitting from one end of the property to another. After I got up into my Fifties, I thought it might be nice to learn this trade of refurbishing old mowers and follow in his footsteps. At least it would be a way to honor his work, right? So I sat out to try and learn, I watched him, I asked questions, I took notes, I was going to do this come hay or high water. Yes sir', I could just hear the talk around the neighborhood! Old man Buttlers daughter is taking over his lawn mower business, what do ya think of that? A Woman running a lawn mower refurbish business?Well...days led into weeks and I was starting to question my true desire of doing this. My hands and nails always had grease on them. I smelled like body oder from the heat and sweat. My hair always a mess from the wind. Gasoline, oil, grease and grime was my new look! I didn't feel or look like a female anymore. My desire to take on the family heritage of running a lawn mower shop was not to appealing as before, to say the least! Then came the day I will never forget! Dad called me over to a riding mower that he had been working on. He said, "I want you to take these metal pliars and grasp the bottom of that spark plug right there and hold it tight and whatever you do, do NOT let go"! I replied, "Okay Dad, grasp spark plug tight and do not let go, I got this"! So he began putting to wires together and Holy Moly, a fire hot sensation ran up my arm clean to my head. I jumped back, let go of the pliars and looked at him with the most angry look you could ever imagine! He was just laughing and laughing and couldn't stop. Through the laughing he said to me, "Never let anyone tell you to put metal pliars anywhere around a spark plug, always have rubber on the handles.Needless to say, I quit! I was so angry that he did that to me, that I walked off and never darkened the lawn mower shop again! I never forgot the lesson either. To this day, all of my pliars have rubber handles! Miss you so much Dad,Diane
